3.5 year old 65' Samsung TV display screen repair

The display is half dark and the other half is bright. TV's video and images can be seen.  I called Samsung for repair, and they mentioned the "display motherboard" needs to be replaced. I wanted to get a diagnostic test to see if that is correct or if there is another simpler solution.
